Since we released Gelstainer automated system in mid 2012, we have received wide attention from universities, research facilities and biological companies. The Gelstainer, automated gel staining system is aimed to fully conduct staining on its own following SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, replacing present operation on rockers. After setting the program, Gelstainer will continue the work without any human attention, replace the repeating manual work of adding, changing fluid and incubation, remarkable promote lab work efficiency and enables user to arrange time for more creative, productive work. Moreover, using Gelstainer will remarkably reduce the time of contact with poisonous reagent, lower the risk of lab workers’ health, the reagent cycle in closed system, free of contamination on lab ambience, easy to handle with lab waste, which current rocker user may have to face.

Gelstainer includes 11 pipelines, independently process reagent, avoiding cross contamination at highest possibility. 4 of the 11 pipelines can be selected for reagent recycle, through the filtered at the end of each tube, reagent quality is ensured. The incubation tank works much like a low speed rocker with a light proof lid, prevents reagent evaporating. The program software is concise in instruction on time, pipe number, volume and incubation.

The gel staining process, for example, silver stain- has a adjustable developing procedure to adjust gel and background color thickness. So how to achieve adjustable human intervention during automated program? The Gelstainer has a transparent lid for observing gel color, user can stop/cancel/restart protocol or single step at any point of the program. Throughout our test and user demo, Gelstainer is attested for flexible requirements.
